I’m delighted to say that I have just received confirmation that I have passed the second of my three new Pilates qualifications: ‘Supporting Clients with Long-Term Health Conditions‘.
I have taken this new qualification in addition to my existing specialist qualifications including: ‘Exercise for Older Adults’, ‘Supporting Clients with Disabilities’, and in particular my recently acquired ‘Level 4 Certificate in Physical Activity and Lifestyle Strategies for Managing Low Back Pain’. Together, these will enable me to even better support those of my clients with a diverse range of long-term health conditions, in order to improve their quality of life through Pilates exercise.
Working as I do with many clients having long-term health conditions, it is essential that I am able to take these into consideration during class, to be able to offer suitable alternative exercises where neccessary, in order to ensure everyone is working safely and effectively and at a suitable level. I am extremely proud of my track record that, in 30 plus years as a professional fitness instructor teaching thousands of clients, I have maintained a perfect safety record.
Having a deeper understanding of subjects including: Managing long-term conditions, Applied anatomy and physiology, and The planning and adaptation of physical activity for clients with long-term conditions, also helps me to best serve my 1-1 Pilates clients, who often come to me with considerable health issues to overcome, and to make a real positive difference to these people’s lives.
This is the second of my recent set of three specialist qualifications. The final one, ‘Level 4 Award in Exercise Therapy (Pilates), I have just submitted and is currently being assessed!
See you all in class.
