Covid-19
Happily, the pandemic is far behind us, but Covid-19 remains a part of our lives, and can still be dangerous to some.
For this reason, we continue to stipulate as part of our terms of business, that you may NOT attend group or one-to-one classes if you currently have Covid-19, or if you have been in close contact with anyone known to have had Covid, and that you must then test negative before you return to class. We also ask that you test if you suspect you may have Covid-19. Those who do not accept these terms should not attend classes with us. For those temporarily unable to attend class due to Covid-19, we will instead offer you one of four weekly online live Zoom classes or a selection of recorded classes to take instead. Thank you for your cooperation.
Group Classes
Group Classes – Payments Policy
- Please do not arrive for class without a means of payment. If you have previously paid for a block of classes, it is your responsibility to ensure you have at least one paid-for class remaining when you arrive, or alternatively a means of payment for the current class.
- Jane Mackenzie reserves the right at her discretion to refuse entry to those without a valid means of payment for their class.
Group Classes – Booking Classes
- Pay in advance to book classes. Either for single classes or blocks of classes.
- Your places are booked and guaranteed once payment has been received and Jane has confirmed availability.
- Payment may be made by bank transfer, or by contactless card payment at your previous class. For bank transfers, please contact Jane to request her bank details.
- Blocks of classes do not have to be on consecutive weeks. Just let us know the dates you wish to attend at the time of booking.
Group Classes – Discount for 24/7 Members
- 24/7 membership must be current both at time of payment AND time classes are taken, AND be continuous in between. If your 24/7 membership expires before you take any pre-paid discounted group classes, you must then pay the additional £2 per class for any classes taken after your 24/7 expiry date.
- Group class discounts only apply to the same person taking the class as is also a 24/7 member. E.g. if you pay for classes for both yourself and your partner, and only you are a 24/7 member, the discounted rate will only apply to your classes.
- Jane Mackenzie reserves the right to terminate this scheme for any reason at any time. In this case, 24/7 access will be provided until your current membership period expires, although additional classes may not be added during the wind-down period. Discounted group classes will remain valid until your 24/7 expiry date. Any classes taken after this time will be charged at the normal class rate, and for pre-paid discounted classes the £2 difference per class payable.
Group Classes – Booking Priority for 24/7 Members
- 24/7 members will be offered available group class places before non-members in the following circumstances:
- If we receive multiple requests to join a class where an insufficient number of places remain to cater for all the requests.
- In the case of waiting lists for classes, 24/7 members will be offered vacated places before non-members.
- In both the above cases, if more that one person is a 24/7 member, priority is given to the person who asked or joined the waiting list first.
- Being a 24/7 member does not mean we will hold unpaid classes open for you. Places are still allocated in the order in which payments are received. Once a person has paid for a class their place is guaranteed, irrespective of whether they are a 24/7 member or not.
Group Classes – Cancellation and Termination
Cancellation by you
- To enable us to manage class numbers, booked classes may only be changed to a different week, if a week or more notice is given.
- If less than a week’s notice, we will endeavour to fit you in on a different class during that same week only subject to availability. Or you can change to an online Zoom or recorded class on the same week.
- Booked classes are otherwise non-transferable and non-refundable.
- If with less than 1 week’s notice you are not permitted to attend a group class for Covid-19 safety reasons (i.e. if you are experiencing symptoms or have been in contact with someone tested positive for Coronavirus) the above still applies. We do not offer refunds or alternative dates to those who are unable to attend group classes at short notice due to Coronavirus. You may however take a class online via Zoom in lieu of your missed face-to-face class during that same week.
Cancellation by Jane Mackenzie
- Booking and payment in advance as above only guarantees your place if your class is able to run on any given week. Jane Mackenzie reserves the right to cancel classes without notice if circumstances arise whereby it is not possible to run the class, for example (but not limited to) accident, ill-health, non-availability of venue, etc.
- Jane Mackenzie also reserves the right to cancel classes during her holidays without notice, if it is not possible to obtain a covering instructor or if low numbers of booked participants render running the classes impractical. In the case of classes cancelled by Jane Mackenzie only, pre-paid classes will be carried over to a subsequent week.
- Jane Mackenzie reserves the right to permanently terminate classes for any reason. In the case of class termination only, pre-paid classes after the termination date will be refunded.
Group Classes – Pay on the Day
- You may just turn up for a class without having booked and paid in advance.
- In this case, places are subject to availability on a first come first served basis, so it is best to arrive early. You can of course contact Jane beforehand to see how busy we are, but we can’t guarantee your place.
- Please note that telling us you are coming to a class does not guarantee your place, unless you have paid in advance.
One to One Sessions
One to One Sessions – Payments Policy
- Payment for one to one session is required in advance by bank transfer, or on the day, at the start of the session.
One to One Sessions – Cancellation
- If you wish to cancel or postpone a pre-arranged one to one session, at least one week’s notice from the arranged session date is required, or you will be required to pay for the cancelled/postponed session in full. This to enable Jane Mackenzie time to fill the vacated time slot.
- If with less than 1 week’s notice you are unable to attend a one-to-one session due to government Covid-19 regulations (i.e. if you are experiencing symptoms or have been in contact with someone tested positive for Coronavirus) the above still applies. We do not offer refunds or alternative dates to those who are unable to attend sessions at short notice due to Coronavirus.
- For sessions cancelled or postponed by Jane Mackenzie, a full refund or alternative time slot will be provided as preferred.
