Weight loss through healthy living
The New You Challenge is a Facebook group we set up several weeks ago. The challenge is to adopt a healthier attitude towards eating during the run-up to Christmas, and thereby lose a little weight beforehand. The idea isn’t to get a ‘head start’ and then over-indulge yourself. On the contrary, we hope that by being a bit more health-conscious before Christmas, you will continue in this manner throughout the festive season, and thereby avoid putting on weight during this period.

As the weeks have progressed, we have discussed lots of the ways in which we have included healthy habits into our diets, as well as tips, including health apps, to give us a bit of extra help. Triggers, too, have been discussed, causing us to stray from our preferred healthy lifestyles; very useful to recognise in order to avoid these pitfalls.
But it’s a lot more exciting than that!
The New You Challenge group is a precursor to a brand new weight management class we are launching at the start of January. The idea of the class is to provide low intensity exercise followed by person-centered advice and support. There will be no ‘weigh-ins’, and we shall support people in setting their own personal goals, as well as focusing on weight control as a positive side effect of healthy living.
