Hello Everyone

I hope you are all able to enjoy the summer days in between the showers, and have also been able to see more of family and friends and hug your loved ones again.

I have really enjoyed teaching our classes and seeing everyone since we restarted in May. It’s great that we have been able to teach outside, too, for some classes when the weather has allowed. Let’s hope for more sunshine for the rest of the summer!

Pilates Picnic Thursday 12th August 12 pm at Hythe Cricket Club

This week we will see our very first Pilates social since 2019! Our first post pandemic Pilates Picnic will be held outside at Hythe Cricket Club on the grass, after class at 12 pm on 12th August. Everyone is invited to come along, not just those who come to classes there. It would be so lovely to see some of you who haven’t yet come back to class yes as well – we miss you!

Please bring along some healthy food to share. I will bring along paper plates and plastic knives and forks. We will still need to be mindful of hygiene when preparing food and being with each other, etc. I really want us to enjoy each other’s company and feel as normal as possible, but still keep everyone safe. Planty of hand sanitiser will be provided. The weather is looking perfect this Thursday for classes outside and for our picnic – I have booked it!

Informal Swimming in the Sea

We have been swimming in the sea for a while now after classes on Tuesday mornings at 10.15 am (opposite The Waterfront, Hythe) and on Saturday mornings at 10.15 am (opposite the Café on the Beach, Hythe). It’s a wonderful activity, good for body and mind, and such a fun social too! If you would like to join us, please do – everyone is invited to come along!

Please note that this is not an organised Jane’s H&F activity, just an group of friend having an informal swim together. This is therefore entirely at your own risk, and you are fully responsible for your own safety. But of course it is best to swim with others for safety as well as the social aspect. You don’t have to be a great swimmer, just able to swim. Some stay close in and tread water and swim around gently, while others swim a bit further. I am always happy to do a longer swim with anyone who wants to do that, too. The water temperature is perfect now for starting sea swimming. We wear beach shoes, as it’s difficult to walk across the stones in bare feet. We plan to keep up our swimming all through the year, in order to fully embrace cold water’s therapeutic benefits!

My Holidays and My Sister Carol’s Wedding

Finally, advance notice of my forthcoming holiday, and exciting news that we will be combining this with the wedding of my twin sister, Carol Boughton to her amazing fiancée, Chris Grime. After a long a difficult time during the pandemic, I really feel I need a slightly longer break to recharge my batteries, so I can return renewed and be the best instructor I can possibly be for you. We will therefore be taking the first two weeks off in September, as well as an additional Thursday evening so we can get to Carol’s wedding on the first Friday. Specifically:

  • No 6.00 pm class on Thursday 2nd Sept
  • No classes week commencing Monday 6th Sept
  • No classes week commencing Monday 13th Sept
  • Classes resume as normal from Tuesday 22st Sept at 9.00 am
