Hello Everyone

As we head from spring and into summer, life is finally getting back to normal for so many of you, and we can get classes back to normal, too!

Weights Class and Food Bank Donations – WOW!

I hope you enjoyed the weights class last week, and felt  your muscles had done some work! Those who attended class know that we bring in tins to use as weights, which we then donate to a local food bank. We are therefore helping our muscles as well as those who are currently struggling financially. A huge thank you for all your donations of tins last week. We have collected an amazing 135 tins and other food products. Your generosity as always is humbling and I am so proud to know every one of you.

This Week’s Class – ‘release, relax and revive’

This week’s class (31st May onwards) is a ‘release, relax and revive’ class. If you have a foam roller, please bring it. If not, a large towel to roll up will be fine. Please can you also bring 2 trigger point balls (or any two small balls which are not too hard), a band for stretching and a blanket and eye mask for the relaxation. (Please don’t worry if you don’t have this equipment, as the whole class can be completed without it.)

If any of you would like to order any of the equipment please message me and I can bring it to your class for you. Here is a link to the items I sell. https://www.janem.co.uk/products/ If you don’t have Trigger Point balls be careful buying them from somewhere else as often they may too hard and you may not like them.

Remember there is no 10.45 am and 6.00 pm classes on the Bank Holiday Thursday 2nd June. (The 9.30am class will still be running though.)

Holiday Dates

Please note that I shall be taking a holiday for two weeks at the end of June. It’s been such a long time since Mat and I had a two week break, and we are really looking forward to it.  The following classes will therefore not be running:

  • Tuesday 28th June – all classes cancelled.
  • Wednesday 29th June  – all classes cancelled.
  • Thursday 30th June – all classes cancelled.
  • Tuesday 5th July – all classes cancelled.
  • Wednesday 6th July  – all classes cancelled.
  • Thursday 7th July – all classes cancelled.
  • Zoom classes will also be cancelled for the whole of these two weeks, but the 85+ recordings are still available and a new one goes up just before we go away.

Classes resume as normal from Tuesday 12th July, and anyone with bookings on the above dates will have their classes carried over to the end of their blocks.

Continue your Pilates Online while I’m away! Keep up your Pilates practice with online classes while I am away, I have over 85+ full hour classes and half hour classes to choose from, which you can take as many times as you like, whenever you like. To make things simple, for those who would like to do this, I will simply use your 2 pre-booked classes, in return for 20 days online access. Please let me know by as soon as possible so I can set you up a user account and password. We have some hand weights and chair based classes on there, too, if you want to revisit some of those classes. I know lots of you say you really like them in particular.

Saturday/Sunday Outdoor Pilates

It’s rapidly approaching that time of year when we can enjoy some Pilates outdoors again (hurrah!) Soon after our holiday I shall therefore be starting classes on some Saturday or Sunday mornings at 8.30 am on the Leas, weather permitting, of course. (This year I shall be doing regular Pilates rather than PowerPilates.) I may run some classes on Saturdays and some on Sundays. (Saturdays are always ‘safer’, as cancellations due to the weather can then be rescheduled for the following day.)

The first Outdoor Pilates dates: Sat 16th July, Sat 23rd July, Sun 31st July, Sun 7th Aug.  Let me know if you want to book any of these.

Social Events – Pilates Picnic

It’s been a long time since we had a Pilates Picnic, so let’s enjoy a lovely outside picnic at Hythe Cricket Club Thursday 16th June at 12.00 pm. Everyone is invited. Please bring along some food to share.  I will also bring along paper plates and cups. Please let me know if you want to come along to this, so I have an idea of numbers and tables we need.

We swim regularly on Tuesday mornings at 10.15 am off Hythe and Saltwood Sailing Club, and now the sea is warming up you might want to join us for an informal swim and social after. We started doing this last May, and nearly a year on everyone who started is addicted to sea swimming now! Please note that this is not a taught or supervised group run by me, just an informal get-together for friends to enjoy the sea and beach. There is always so much laughter and fun to be had in the sea no matter what the weather!

And Finally

To help me manage changes to bookings, please can you always use this form: https://www.janem.co.uk/pilates/class-change-request/

And – please remember that I need at least 1 weeks’ notice to change a pre-book/paid class to a different week. Thank you.

Happiness and Health
