Hello Everyone

After a lovely summer, we are now heading into autumn, a great time to refocus on our own health and wellbeing. With this in mind, please see the events we have coming up over the next few months. I don’t know about you, but I love the autumn and changes in the season and the run up to Christmas.

Weights Pilates Class w/c 1st November – bring hand weights or tins

We use hand weights  from time to time to add resistance to some of the exercises to challenge the core muscles more. This is also useful for bone loading to strengthen the wrist, arm and shoulder bones too. You don’t have to use weights and I would suggest not to if you have any shoulder injuries. If you do not have weights please bring along tins of bean (other tins are available) or water bottles with a screw top so they don’t leak. Don’t worry if you forget as your arms weigh something anyway!

Food bank collection  –  tins, and personal hygiene products collection for the next 2 weeks

In the past we have collected tins for the local food back. We will be doing this again over the next 2 weeks. Not only do they need food, but personal hygiene products too such a soap, shampoo, toothpaste etc. Your generosity has been wonderful previously, but lets see if we can have an even bigger collection this autumn as so many people are struggling right now. Just bring what you can to class and I will collect it all up and deliver it to the food bank.  I have checked on ‘BanktheFood’ App and they currently need: toilet rolls (4 pack), gluten free food (not pasta) coffee, tinned ham, long life milk, rice pudding, cuppa soup, snacks, meals in a tin, tinned spaghetti.

MASTERCLASSES ARE BACK!!! It has been way to long since I taught our last Masterclass, and this is one that I have had in mind for some time. The session will use trigger point balls, rollers and bands to release all the muscles that often feel tight and take the body out of alignment. I will give more information in class next week, but you can now book through our online shop as above.

Christmas Lunch Thursday 1st December 12-1pm, Hythe Cricket Club

We haven’t had a Christmas gathering since pre-pandemic, so it will be wonderful to finally have a Christmas social again. I thought we would have an Christmas buffet style gathering where we will all bring along some festive food and drink and share it. Everyone is welcome to come along and we can then mingle and chat to each other rather than being sat at a table. Wearing Christmas jumpers/socks/decoration is optional. Please let me know if you will be coming, so I have an idea on numbers.

Osteoporosis Awareness Day

It was recently World Osteoporosis Day and I said I would share the link to check if you are at risk. As I mentioned in class this is not just a risk test, but gives information too with each questions, so well worth doing. It is recommended that everyone should complete some form of weights/resistance band work in their regular routine. Hence why we add this to our Pilates classes.
