I hope you remembered to put your clocks back on Sunday?! Lots of you have been taking holidays recently and enjoying the freedoms to travel a bit more. As we go into darker evening we can start to focus on our fitness now and think about our goals up to Christmas.

Mobility Stretch and Relaxation Class, Week Commencing 1st November

It’s the start of the month again, so it’s mobility, stretch and relaxation week! If you have Trigger Point balls, or other massage release balls (x2) please bring them. Also bring along a foam roller, or big towel instead to roll up. We will also be using the long band for stretching. For the relaxation you could bring an eye mask to take out the light or use your band to cover your eyes and bring a blanket. All of these pieces of equipment are optional and I will be showing you the movements without. Weights Pilates Class Week, Week Commencing 8th November

I have previously talked about the benefits of resistance / weight bearing exercises with you recently to strengthen the bones and muscles. We will therefore be doing a hand weight class during regular classes the week commencing 8th November. You can bring along light hand weights or tins of beans (or other tins or water bottles) This class will add some resistance in a different way to using bands. Again, this is optional; you don’t have to bring along weights or tins, and can do the class with your arms alone.

For those of you who haven’t yet, restart your fitness journey now by coming back to classes with me – you’ll feel fitter, stronger, and happier, too! I know that the Pandemic has made it difficult to remain focused on your health and fitness for a wide range of reasons, but now is the time to ‘get back on the horse’ and start making those positive changes once again. 100 Miles in October Challenge Completed!

Last month I participated in the ‘100 Miles in October’ challenge for MacMillan Cancer Support, and I am very happy to report that I smashed those 100 miles! We have raised over £1000 for this amazing cause so far! Every penny goes towards improving the lives of those with cancer.

Saturday Outdoor PowerPilates

PowerPilates utilises the six key training principles of regular Pilates: concentration, control, center, flow, precision and breathing, but in a more dynamic, aerobic format. Classes are one hour in length (including warmup and stretching sections), and follow an ‘interval’ structure, with alternating short periods of power walking combined with standing exercises. PowerPilates is suitable for all levels of fitness, from beginners upwards, as I provide different variations of each exercise to ensure everyone is working at a safe and effective level, irrespective of experience. As well as developing your core strength and balance, the class is also designed to get you moving, warm, and to elevate your heart-rate, building your aerobic fitness. PowerPilates is especially suitable for weight loss/control when combined with a healthy nutrition plan.
